Meteoroid stream geometry
On this page, you will find the geometry of major meteoroid streams relative to the Moon. The plots are made for 20:00 UTC in the night of the predicted maximum of the stream. They show the view as seen from the centre of the Earth. The blue area shows the part which can have impacts from stream meteoroids; the white part is the illuminated part of the Moon. All computations were done with a modified version of our ‘lif_simulation’ tool. It was tested relative to geometries shown by Madiedo et al. (2015).
