Research interests
My main research interest is the estimation and prediction of (chaotic) dynamical systems, in particular the climate system. I approach this field from different sides: general (nonparametric) statistical theory, simulation studies, and application to real data. The methods I am interested in range from classical statistical estimators to state-of-the-art machine learning models.
I am also interested in climate econometrics (estimating the social cost of carbon) and the statistical theory of means in general spaces (Fréchet means).
