Welcome to the professorship of Earth System Modelling!
Our research focusses on the modelling of the Earth system and its components, with particular emphasis on modelling extremes as well as abrupt state transitions in Earth system dynamics. For this purpose we mainly use physical models of varying complexity, but also investigate methods to combine process-based differential equation models with machine learning techniques.
