This week we kicked off the project “Innovative Instrumente zum MAnagement des Urbanen Starkregenrisikos” – in short, Inno_MAUS in person in the Umweltstation Würzburg.
This project is led by the University Potsdam, TUM is involved with the chair of Hydraulic and Water Resources Engineering and the chair of Data Science in Earth Observation, next to our Partners from KISTERS AG, Orbica, Bayerisches Landesamt für Umwelt (LfU Bayern), Berliner Wasserbetriebe (BWB), Senatsverwaltung für Umwelt, Verkehr und Klimaschutz Berlin (SenUVK), Stadt Würzburg, Fachbereich Umwelt- und Klimaschutz (WÜ).
The overall objective of "Inno_MAUS" is the further development and integration of innovative digital tools for the management of urban heavy rainfall risks. These tools are to be applicable for early warning as well as for planning and precautionary measures. Tests and demonstrations will be carried out as a "best practice example" for the heavy rainfall risk management of two (regarding physics and risk conditions different) cities, Berlin and Würzburg.
