This fall marked the official start of Extract4D, our research project in collaboration with the 3DGeo Research Group and Scientific Software Center at Heidelberg University π©βπ»π¨βπ».
π‘ The project will focus on extracting surface dynamics from multimodal 4D point clouds and aims to advance our understanding of Earth Surface Processes and their interactions.
By pooling our strengths and expertise, we aim to develop new data-driven methods to enhance change analysis in multimodal 4D point clouds and study surface activities across different geographical environments. Among them, coastal dynamics in the Netherlands π (in collaboration with Geoscience & Remote Sensing and Coastal Engineering at TU Delft), soil surface processes in agriculture πΏ (in collaboration with TU Dresden), and salt marsh dynamics π± (in collaboration with Geosciences Rennes).
A special thank you to our collaborators Bernhard HΓΆfle and Dominic Kempf, and to the DFG for making this initiative possible. We look forward to sharing updates and breakthroughs over the next three years! ππ°οΈ π»
