MOVE - Munich Orbital Verification Experiment
MOVE is an acronym which stands for "Munich Orbital Verification Experiment".
New technologies for space applications cannot be successfully marketed without a proof of functionality in space. That is why every new technology must be tested and verified in space before being commercially released. This can either be performed through secondary payloads or ideally specialized verification missions. Especially for small components (MEMS), CubeSats are a cheap verification platform due to their high standardization and technology readiness.
Such a CubeSat-based verification platform shall be developed and built at LRT. It shall fulfill the requirements of many different payloads and offer them a wide variety of interfaces. The Mission shall enable industry standard verification methods.
One focus of the CubeSat Project is the education of participating students. The experience gained shall be maximized through model-based system development in connection with hardware integration.
REXUS - Roket-borne Experiments for University Students
LRT students have participated in the REXUS program five times since 2006. This program is sponsored by the German Aerospace Center (DLR). In these projects, the students develop their own sounding-rocket experiments, build and test them and finally launch them into space during a launch campaign in Kiruna, Sweden.
