Objectives
After passing the module, students are able to recognize and describe links between the theoretical-methodical learning content and (research) practice in the field of aerospace. They will get an overview of the entire range of topics in the field of aerospace and learn about the opportunities and activities of aerospace engineers. Students gain an overview of current research trends and are able to apply the knowledge profitably in their further study and career planning.
Description
This lecture series provides students with a broad overview of the current research areas, trends, activities and fields of work of aerospace engineers. This gives them a good overview of the possible specializations in the course of study at a very early stage, but also for further career planning.
Teaching and learning methods
The lecture series is held by the aerospace professors from the Department of Aerospace and Geodesy. In alternating lectures, the individual research areas, application spectra, fields of work as well as cooperation projects are presented and discussed together with the students.
Examination
The learning outcomes of the module are demonstrated in the form of a report as a course achievement, this is assessed as ""passed"" or as ""failed"".
The content of the report is based on the lectures given by the aerospace professors, who look at the subject of aerospace from their different perspectives and research foci. In the report, students link the theoretical, fundamental course content from the first semester with the engineering research and practice areas of the professors from the aerospace field. Selected contents of the lectures are to be discussed in the report and to be integrated into the learned theoretical contents of the basic study contents, thus it is examined whether the students are able to establish a connection between mediated study and teaching contents and the engineering practice in the field of aerospace. Through their own reflection and evaluation, the students show that they can apply this knowledge to their future study and career planning.
