As part of the KinderUni, Prof. Reiss gave the lecture “What treasures are there on the Moon?” on 10.01.2025. In addition to the lecture, there were numerous hands-on activities organised by the Chair of Lunar and Planetary Exploration and the Scientific Workgroup for Rocketry and Spaceflight for the approximately 400 young researchers. With great intrest, lots of questions, and amazing specialist knowledge, the children took part in the lecture. In exciting experiments, the children learned a lot about space, for example how vacuum affects objects. The children aged between 7 and 12 were fascinated to learn that treasures on the Moon are not made of gold and gem stones, but of water and oxygen. Reporters from the KinderUni accompanied the lecture. They conducted interviews with Prof. Reiss and students, wrote reports, took photos, and made comics.
