Doctoral student Stephanie Tumampos has been selected to be part of the IEEE GRSS Administrative Committee as the Chief of Publicity and PR.
Tumampos has been an active member of the IEEE GRSS since 2020. She started as the host of the society’s podcast, “Down to Earth: A podcast by Geoscientists by Geoscientist” and from there on, has been part of the Inspire, Develop, Empower and Advance (IDEA) Committee as the Social Media Ambassador.
With her new role in the society, Tumampos will assist the Vice President of Information Resources in developing effective communication strategies internally within the Society and externally to the public. She will also help in developing marketing strategies, supervise web and social media activities, and other duties assigned to her by the VP.
Tumampos is currently under the International Graduate School of Science and Engineering scholarship working on the Modelling, Prediction and Anomaly detection of Earth Surface Dynamics project by the TUM-ICL Joint Academy of Doctoral Studies (JADS) Project. Aside from her affiliation in the Chair of Remote Sensing Technology team, she is also part of the Professorship for Big Geospatial Data Management.
