Our colleagues Matthias Feuchtgruber and Fabian Diemar have just finished a two-month research stay at the Australian National University in Canberra. In collaboration with the research group of Paul Compston they examined CFRP samples using micro-computed tomography (micro-CT). The measurements help to precisely analyse fibre orientation, fibre volume and pore content and help to gain a better understanding of the material.
In addition, the collaboration between TUM and ANU was strengthened, which will be further promoted in the coming years through the exchange of doctoral candidates and joint research initiatives.
