The project "Material efficient and cycle time optimized industrialization of 700 bar H2 pressure vessels - MaTaInH2" started at the Chair of Carbon Composites.
The aim of the project is the development of a material-efficient and cycle-time optimized production of pressure vessels to realize a marketable solution for hydrogen storage for automotive applications at 700 bar working pressure. The project is realized in cooperation with the project partners MAHLE Filtersysteme GmbH and the Leibniz-Institut für Verbundwerkstoffe GmbH. The Chair of Carbon Composites is focusing on the optimization of the impregnation techniques, as well as the scaling of the related manufacturing process. For this purpose, adaptations regarding the chair’s facilities will also be implemented within the scope of the project.
The chair thankfully acknowledges the funding of the project “MaTaInH2 – Material-Efficient and Cycle-Time Optimized Industrialization of H2 Pressure Tanks” within the framework of the National Innovation Program Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology with a total of 1,520,121 euros provided by the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI). The funding directive is coordinated by NOW GmbH and implemented by Projektträger Jülich (PtJ).
