A new 3D printer was put into operation at the Chair of Carbon Composites last week. The installation of the printer was made possible thanks to the friendly support of GEWO Feinmechanik GmbH.
The system can reach a nozzle temperature of 450 °C and has a build space that can be heated up to 260 °C. This makes possible the process of high-performance thermoplastics such as PEEK and PEI. With a print volume of 450 mm x 450 mm x 350 mm and the four interchangeable heads for multi-material printing, the new 3D printer offers enough space for the production of larger components.
We thank GEWO Feinmechanik GmbH again for their generous support and look forward to exploring the new possibilities in additive manufacturing.
