Additive Manufacturing (AM) has the potential to revolutionize the manufacturing of composites. The combination of AM processes with the already established Automated Fiber Placement (AFP) process offers the possibility of finding new manufacturing approaches, also for primary structures.
To discuss the current state, trends and opportunities for research and development, the Chair of Carbon Composites of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) together with its long-term research partner Australian National University (ANU) is organizing a virtual symposium:
„FUTURE COMPOSITE MANUFACTURING – AFP & AM“
Various talks from science and industry as well as space for discussion are planned.
Topics include: additive manufacturing with short and continuous fiber reinforcement, automated fiber placement with in situ consolidation, industrial applications in the aerospace and automotive industries, functionalization and characterization of composites for AFP and AM, simulation of additive processes and more!
Besides TUM and ANU talks are held by the research partners AFPT, Airbus, BMW, CEAD, DLR, Fraunhofer, GKN Aerospace, INOMETA, SGL Carbon and Victrex.
WHEN: 9.-10. September 2020, 10:00-17:00 (MESZ, UTC+2)
WHERE: Online! Sign up here for free
