Recently, three of our colleagues presented their research at the "9th ECCOMAS Thematic Conference on the Mechanical Response of Composites - COMPOSITES 2023" in Trapani (Italy). During the three days of the conference, an international field of participants consisting of scientists and interested parties from industry came together to discuss the latest developments in the field of simulation and modeling of the complex material behavior of composites.
Alexander Seidel presented his work on "Numerical Simulation of the Fatigue Damage Growth in Unidirectional Composites based on Fibre-Matrix Debonding".
Oliver Schwahofer presented under the title "Micromechanical Homogenization Methods of Short Glass Fiber-reinforced Injection-molded Bio-based Composite Material".
Marco Tönjes revealed current results in the field of "Strength Prediction for Multidirectional Open-Hole Composite Laminates under Dynamic Loading".
We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to all partners and funding agencies of the corresponding projects, which make our research possible.
Furthermore, a big thank you to the conference organizers, especially Prof. Giuseppe Catalanotti, for the excellent event.
