TUM Hyperloop PhD Position in Civil Engineering
We are looking for a highly motivated PhD candidate with a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent). The position will be at the Chair of Hyperloop, where you will be part of the pioneering TUM Hyperloop Team in Ottobrunn.
Start: August 1st or September 1st 2025
Your Profile
- Master’s in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) completed by start date
- Strong interest in cutting-edge technology and willingness to explore uncharted territories
- Hands-on approach to testing, breaking, and improving prototypes
- Great team player to work with the ambitious TUM Hyperloop Team
- Self-driven and proactive mindset - take ownership of your tasks and shape your own research direction
Your Responsibilities
- Analyze existing Hyperloop tube concepts
- Develop, realize, and test a full-scale tube prototype
- Collaborate with multiple TUM chairs and regional construction industry partners
- Participate in teaching duties within the team
- Publish research outcomes and write your doctoral thesis
