The lecture series "Helicopter development in the Industry (Airbus Helicopters)" offers a practical insight into the complex disciplines of helicopter development. In this lecture series, experts from the helicopter industry, from Airbus Helicopters, will talk about key topics and current developments in helicopter technology.
The aim of the module is to provide a sound understanding of the main problems and disciplines of helicopter development. It will look at how methods for describing the flight and aeromechanics as well as the dynamics of helicopters are applied and compared with each other. Another focus is on the aspects of modelling and simulation, which play a central role in the development of helicopters. Common modelling tools are also introduced and their application in an industrial context is explained.
After completing the course, you will be able to understand and explain the various disciplines and their interactions throughout the entire development process. You will also be able to recognise current challenges in helicopter development and discuss possible practical solutions.
The course therefore offers not only theoretical foundations, but also practice-orientated insights into development and the methods used in the helicopter industry.
