The proposal by Chair of Geoinformatics called "Dynamizers" has been accepeted by OGC Future Cities Pilot Phase 1 (FCP1). FCP1 is an initiative by Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), which aims at demonstrating and enhancing the ability of spatial data infrastructures to support quality of life, civic initiatives and urban resilience. The objective of the OGC pilot project is to demonstrate how use of, international standards such as CityGML and IFC together can provide stakeholders with information, knowledge and insight which enhances financial, environmental, and social outcomes for citizens living in cities. Results from this initiative will be documented in Engineering Reports (ERs) in the context of a hands-on engineering experience. The final demonstrations will be presented in Smart City Expo in Barcelona in November, 2016.
The FCP1 Kick-off meeting was organised in London on April 12, 2016. In an entire day meeting, the key objectives, individual roles and timelines of the pilot project were discussed amongst sponsors and participants. Prof. Thomas H. Kolbe and Kanishk Chaturvedi from our chair participated in the meeting and represented the proposal Dynamizers. Dynamizers is an innovative concept, which allows modeling and integration of dynamic data and sensors with interoperable semantic 3D City Models. A first version of a conceptual schema for representing Dynamizers has already been published. Within this pilot project, our chair will be responsible for
- Compilation of Engineering Report with support from partners
- Development of conceptual schema of CityGML Dynamizers
- Development of XML schema documents of CityGML Dynamizers
- Plan and conduct a demonstration using the pilot scenario
