Ten students from the twelfth grade of Munich's Dante-Gymnasium have been working on a project seminar led by their teacher Natalie Gabriel on the topic "City of the Future".
They have received technical and methodological support from several chairs in geodesy at TUM.
During a visit to the Chair of Geoinformatics at TUM, they were able to implement their ideas for urban development in Minecraft models. As a basis, the Chair of Geoinformatics provided the project seminar with a Minecraft model of the school's surroundings. This model was created by transforming geospatial data using an automated workflow developed in the projects Digital Twin Munich and Connected Urban Twins.
Over the course of a few hours, the group of students implemented a variety of innovative ideas for urban development in Minecraft, ranging from facade greening to the transportation of goods using existing and expanded subway infrastructure.
