The 3DCityDB Webclient developed by the Chair of Geoinformatics has been selected amongst the finalists of Web3D city modeling competition (http://web3d2015.web3d.org/competition.html ) under the annual ACM SIGGRAPH Web3D Conference. The competition involves the development of open-source solution for the best web browser-based 3D rendering of a city.
The development team comprises of two PhD candidates from the Chair, M.Sc. Zhihang Yao and M.Sc. Kanishk Chaturvedi under the supervision of Prof. Thomas H. Kolbe. Both the candidates have received the financial award by the German Special Interest Group on 3D City Models (AK 3D Stadtmodelle: http://www.3d-stadtmodelle.org ) to attend and present the work in the 20th International Web3D 2015 Conference on Web3D Technology in Heraklion, Crete, Greece 18-21 June 2015 (http://web3d2015.web3d.org/ ).
