The examination committee consisted of Frau Prof. Dr.-Ing. Liqiu Meng and Prof. Dr. Walter Timo de Vries from TUM and Prof. Dr. Helen Bao from Cambridge University. The research evolved around three fundamental questions: why collective action is crucial in land management, what elements facilitate or hinder it, and how do stakeholders' relationships affect the collective action in the process of land marketization. The research explored conceptual models on stakeholders' market-oriented behavior, and particularly highlighted the role of trust in collective action. The empirical findings came from different parts of China, including Beijing, Henan province and Jiangsu province. The dissertation was publication-based / cumulative, based on 5 peer-reviewed articles.
