During the visit Prof. de Vries acted as an external examiner for the doctoral defence of Dwi Budi Martono (on the issue of a typology of cadastres), and for two qualifying seminar for doctoral candidates at the geodetic department. Additionally he provided a guest lecture on responsible and smart land management, contributed to a UGM webinar on boundary surveying in Indonesia, and discussed possibilities for collaborative teaching and research in land management and geodetic engineering. Follow up activities include the development of a joint research proposal, additional guest lectures and several staff and student exchange possibilities.
